Avoid blood thinners For at least one week prior to treatment (if approved by your physician), avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®), naproxen (Aleve®), vitamin E, fish oil, and St. John’s Wort. Tylenol® (acetaminophen) is generally acceptable for pain relief. Limit alcohol Avoid alcohol consumption for 24–48 hours before your appointment, as it may increase bruising and swelling. Stay hydrated Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment. Well-hydrated skin responds better to injectable treatments. Arrive with clean skin On the day of your appointment, arrive with a clean face free of makeup, lotions, or heavy skincare products. Reschedule if needed If you have an active skin infection, cold sore, rash, or breakout in the treatment area, please reschedule your appointment to avoid complications.

Aftercare (Post-Treatment)

Apply cold compresses Gently apply a cold compress or ice pack to the treated areas intermittently for the first 24–48 hours to reduce swelling and bruising. Avoid strenuous activity Refrain from vigorous exercise and activities that increase blood flow to the face for 24–48 hours. Limit heat exposure Avoid excessive heat, including sun exposure, saunas, hot tubs, and hot showers, for at least 24–48 hours. Sleep with head elevated Use extra pillows the first night to help minimize swelling. Avoid touching or rubbing Do not touch, rub, or apply pressure to treated areas unless instructed by your provider. Delay other facial treatments Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, or dental procedures for at least two weeks, or until cleared by your provider.
